An ancient symbol that represents Eternity and Life of all beings on Mother Earth

The circle represents the universe, both external and internal. The centre is brown, representing the earth, the Earth Mother. The outer circle is blue, representing the sky, Father sky.
In the East, we have yellow, a place of vision and of new beginnings. In the South, there is red, a place of trusting and learning. In the West, there is black, a place of dreaming and introspection. In the North, the colour is white, a place of wisdom.
Each colour represents the Four Directions as well as colours of people. Through this, we can trace the stages of growth in both the physical sense and emotional development.
In the centre there is a diamond of royal blue colour. This represents the Great Spirit, God, Buddha or Higher Consciousness. The 'Within'.
In each direction, there are 3 flashes or lines. They represent the past, present and future. In Tibetan Buddhism, we might say they represent the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. The four directions and the centre could be seen to represent the Five Elements...and so on it goes.
This image is universal and can be interpreted in many ways.
This is the logo for Within the Circle.
The Circle
Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle. The sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours.
The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same, and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were.
The life of man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves.
Our teepees were round like the nests of birds, and they were always set in a circle, the nation's hoop, a nest of many nests, where the Great Spirit meant for us to hatch our children.

Healing Power of the Circle
The Circle has healing power. In the Circle we are all equal. When in the Circle, no one is in front of you and no one is behind you. No one is above you. No one is below you. The Sacred Circle is designed to create unity.
The Hoop of Life is also a circle. On this hoop there is a place for every species, every race, every tree, and every plant.
It is this completeness of Life that must be respected in order to bring about health on this planet.
To understand each other, as the ripples when a stone is tossed into the waters, the Circle starts small and grows...until it fills the whole lake.

The Circle of Life
Oh Great Spirit,
Of the Indian People,
Hear my words
For they are words that come
From the heart, soul and mind.
Oh Great Spirit,
Be my mind
Be my eyes
Be my ears
Be my heart
Be my soul
Be within me
So that I may walk
With dignity and pride.
Oh Great Spirit,
Of the Indian People,
Know of me.
For I am of your people.
I am Indian,
An Indian of the Circle of Life
A prisoner of War
In my own Land!
Oh Great Spirit,
Of the Indian people,
Hear my words
For they are for you.
They are of you.
You are my way of Life
In the Circle of Life
